Freediving Courses – Discover Freediving

Discover Freediving

Is freediving for me?

Have you ever been curious how it’s possible for freedivers to extend their times so long underwater?

Do you want to feel what it’s like to enjoy the freedom without carrying heavy tanks, whether for travelling, more mobility, gaining more comfort in the water or to feel more in touch with the environment around you?

If so, then the Discover Freediving is a great first step for you to develop solid freediving skills.

You’ll learn the basic freediving principles and will focus on practical breath hold techniques at a beautiful cenote.

You’ll see that there is nothing superhuman about freediving.

It’s simply a matter of getting your techniques right that will open a whole new dimension inside and outside

What will you learn?

We’re proud to say that we offer the Discover Freediver program for different organizations, to give you the choice with the best experience.

The Discover Freediving starts with an in-depth knowledge development.

This will cover safety, techniques, physiology, equipment and awareness.

Once you have a good understanding of the theory, we will have a thorough briefing and presentation at Maya Blue concerning skills and buddy-procedures, safety, cenote regulation, history and points of interest.

After everything is crystal, we will travel to one of our beautiful cenotes to practice dry and confined static apnea.

With the knowledge you have and the right techniques you’ll notice that it’s easy to surpass our goal of 90 seconds breath hold.

We will have a lunch at the cenote and afterwards continue with practicing our finning techniques and streamlining during the dynamic apnea.

You will master to swim at least 25 meters underwater and learn how to assist your buddy.

Finally, you will explore the cenote and enjoy the freedom, gliding through the water.

The discover freediver can be done in only one day (or two days depending on the program you choose).
